The Grade 7 & 8 class has been busy studying the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Since this year marked the 100th anniversary of the infamous battle that lasted from April 9-12th, 1917. The picture is the Vimy Ridge Memorial in France and has engraved on it over 11 000 soldiers names who fought in the war and who's final resting place was never found. The students learned how important the battle was to the Canadian Identity at the time. The battle also showed the world that Canada was able to work independently and that they were not just a country within the British Empire.

Good Afternoon Parents,

Well it's that time of the year again, when the snow is almost gone and the weather is getting warmer. The last month has been a busy one for the grade 7/8's. The attended the Junior High School Track Attack at the University of Manitoba for the second time. As well as this last week they have been studying the beautiful country of Chile. On March 24th, the school participated in Purple Day in support of Epilepsy awareness. The grade 6-8 band played the Bunny Hop while the rest of the school did 100 hops in 2 minutes.

On March 15th we also had our Camp Manitou meeting, which sent home all necessary forms to be signed and returned by April 28th. Just a reminder that all camp deposits are due as soon as possible.

Have a great Spring Break and see you on April 3rd.
