Week of November 16

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a great weekend and a relaxing break from school.

Monday (tomorrow) is We Day and the students need to be at school early.

There will be no shops this week, as the next one is Monday, November 23rd. Please take note of the Santa Claus Breakfast on Saturday - it looks like it will be a lot of fun!

Math - Students will be learning about fractions, decimals, and percent.
ELA - Students will continue working on the novel study "The Giver".
Science - We have started our next unit on Fluids and will be doing a few experiments on density.
Bible - Our chapel theme this week is The Robe of Righteousness.

I am happy with how the students are putting in a solid effort in the classroom.  As the second term begins I will expect that the students continue to give their best in their studies.  My expectations will be greater in term two and there may be a bit more homework.

Thank you for all the support you provide.

Yours sincerely,

November 8th
Dear Parents

I am happy to announce a successful 1st term is almost complete and I have had a great time spending time teaching and learning with your children.  We had a fun time eating, carving pumpkins, dancing, and making mummies during our Halloween party last Friday.  We also listened to classmates share  powerpoint presentations on a variety of diseases.  Make sure you have your child show you what they did, I was so impressed.

Permission slips went home for We Day, and Rate and Review, please send them back on Monday.

This week at school we will have a Remembrance Day Chapel starting just before 11:00 on Tuesday, please feel free to join us. There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. The next Shops class is on November 23rd.

Math - Grade 7 & 8 will be learning about fractions, decimals and percents
ELA- Students will continue reading The Giver
Science- We are starting the next unit on Fluid

Have a great week
Mrs. Bonita Reimer
